Performance Team Auditions

We are excited to announce the Performance Team auditions will be held on Tues. June 14th starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Dance Unlimited Studio. There will be a Parents meeting at the studio on Mon. Stampede Parade

We just wanted to send out a quick reminder about the Jefferson County Stampede Parade this Saturday, June 11th. We want all of our dancers to meet in front of the Rigby Stake Center (On the road between the Stake Center and the Jr. High) by 9:30. They can wear their Dance Unlimited T-Shirts or any black T-Shirt they may have. The weather is suppose to be nicer by Saturday, but they may want to bring a jacket just in case.

Wow! It is hard to believe that the time is finally here! Classes start tomorrow (Sept. 7th) at 10:00 a.m. with our Adult Jazz class, (Yoga will begin in Oct.). We hope you all have had a fantastic summer and we can't wait to see everyone again. This is going to be the biggest and best year yet at Dance Unlimited and we are ready to get it goin!

Summer Update

Wow, what an amazing job everyone did at Recital! It is hard to believe that it has already been a month. We are so proud of our dancers performances and love them all! Now it is time to update some things and send out information on Summer Classes!

1. DVD's are in. Those who wanted them mailed should be seeing them any day. For those of you who want to pick them up at Krista's house just stop by.

2. If you are interested in attending "Dance Unlimited Rigby Night at the Playmill" contact Krista for information on getting your tickets.

3. Remember that we are planning on riding a float in the Rigby Stampede Parade on June 12th. Please meet at the Rigby LDS Stake Center (across from Rigby Jr. High) @ 9:30 a.m. that morning and wear a Dance Unlimited T-Shirt or a black T-shirt.

4. Performance Team and Competition Team Auditions have been set up. We will have a parents meeting on Thursday June 10th @ 6:00 p.m. for Performance Team and at 7:00 p.m. for the Competition Team. (Remember Competition Team is for dancers High School age and older only). Performance Team Auditions will be on Monday June 14th beginning at 3:30 p.m. Competition Team Auditions will be on Monday June 14th beginning at 6:00 p.m.

5. Summer classes will begin on Monday June 14th. We are in the process of contacting those who have signed up to notify them of times for their classes. Feel free to call Krista if you have any questions.

This is just a little reminder of our December schedule. We have some fun and special things planned for the month of December. We will be learning some little Christmas dances, and doing some fun activities. Dec. 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 21st will be the last classes of the month. We will be having a little Christmas party in class on these days with some special surprises for our younger classes. We will be holding all of our regularly scheduled classes through Dec. 21st, after which we will break for Christmas Vacation. Classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 4th, 2010.

Just a quick reminder - We will be holding all regular classes in Oct. Schools are out on Oct. 1st and 2nd, and K-7 is out on Oct. 5th in Rigby. However, we will not have any class cancellations.

Mini Nutcracker Update

I am so sorry to tell you that I just received word that the Mini Nutcracker has been cancelled. Due to health reasons, the director of the program will not be able to put on the production this year. Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in auditioning, but you will not need to come on Saturday Sept. 26th.

Mini Nutcracker Auditions

Wow, what an awesome start to a new year we have had! We are so excited to have all of our Dancers in our Dance Unlimited Family!

We have just received some information about auditions for the Mini Nutcracker which is sponsored by the Rigby Chamber of Commerce, and will be performed on Dec. 4th during Midnight Madness. The following is information from the flyer's we will be posting in our studio:

Mini Nutcracker Audition

Wanted: Dancers (ballet, jazz, ballroom) & gymnasts Ages 6-Adult, boys and girls.

Help us with our 2nd year! As part of the Midnight Madness celebration in downtown Rigby we will be performing a mini Nutcracker. All participants will be required to pay for simple costuming and be able to rehearse on Saturdays. Midnight Madness will be on December 4th.

Auditions will be held Saturday Sept. 26th - Ages 6-9, 9:30-10:30 a.m. - Ages 10 and up, 10:30-11:30

Classes Begin Sept 8th, 2009

Well the countdown is on to a new and exciting year at Dance Unlimited Rigby! Classes begin on Tuesday Sept. 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with our yoga class. (Monday classses will start on Sept. 14th). Our teachers are ready to go and we are all looking forward to seeing our dancers again and getting to know all of our new students.

Our new class schedule is finished and should be posted soon. We still have limited space in a few of our classes so if you are interested in registering please contact Krista at briggsco6@hotmail.com. We can't wait to see all of you soon!

New Year About To Begin!

We are so excited about our new year! We love our students and can't wait to see them all again. Here is some information that we need to share with you:

1. Fall Registration. All of you who have preregistered have been mailed out packets with your class schedule and information. If you have not received your packet, or not sent in your registration yet, please contact Krista as soon as possible as our classes are filling up fast.
2. New Student Registration. We have a limited number of openings in a few classes so if you are new to Dance Unlimited and are interested in registering with us, please call or email immediately.
3. Shoe Order. We are holding our shoe order on Saturday Aug. 29th, from 10 a.m to 12:00 p.m. Please bring your dancer so we can size them. Also, if you have used shoes to sell please bring them at the beginning of the day so that we can have a better chance of finding someone to buy them. Please label them with your name, phone number, and price.
4. Class Schedule. We are still adding and finalizing some of our classes so we will have a final master schedule posted on our blog shortly.

It has been a great summer but we are ready to get dancing again, and we hope all of you are as well. We have a lot of fun things planned for our year ahead, but most importantly we have set some big goals and high standards for our dancers, and are looking forward to watching them progress!

Performance Company Auditions

It is time once again to hold our Performance Company Auditions! We will have our parents meeting on Monday June 15th, @ 5:30 p.m. @ the Dance Unlimited Studio. Auditions will begin on Wednesday June 17th @ 10:00 a.m. @ the studio. We will begin judging @ app.12:00 p.m. If you have any questions feel free to give Krista a call @ 745-7538! Stampede Parade & Park Performance

We just want to remind you that our studio has been invited to participate in the Rigby Stampede Parade, and Performance in the park following the parade, on June 13th. We have selected a few classes that we felt would be conducive to performing their recital routine in a park setting, and will be notifying those classes by phone as to which dance and costume they will need to wear. We would like all of the dancers who wish to to ride on our float. Dancers can wear which ever of their Dance Unlimited T-Shirts they wish for the parade, (if you do not have a t-shirt just wear a black one of your own, or I have a few larger sizes left). We will be meeting by the Rigby LDS Stake Center @ 9:30 a.m. (we don’t know what number we will be in the line up), and the parade will begin @ 10:00 a.m. The park performance begins around 12:00 p.m. and we would encourage everyone to watch and support our dancers.

Our Dancers are Awesome!

What an amazing job all of our dancers did at Recital! It is hard to believe how fast this year went! We just want to remind you that you have until May 23rd to order a DVD of recital, and until June 1st to preregister and waive the registration fee. Remember that we place our current students first and after June 1st we open up spots to new students.

We will be posting information on the Stampede Parade and performance at the park as soon as we have all the times and locations.

Thanks again for all of your support this year. We truly love our dancers and look forward to seeing all of them again soon.

Recital 2009

It is hard to believe that this year has already flown by and here we are at Recital time. We had a bit of a delay in publishing the information to our Recital link, due to some computer issues, but it should all be there now. Please feel free to call Krista if you have any additional questions after reading through all of this information.

On a personal note, we always approach Recital with mixed feelings. We are excited to give our dancers an opportunity to share what they have learned and the growth they have made in their talent and skills. At the same time we grow to love each and every one of our dancers so much and Recital means we won't be seeing most of them for awhile, and this really leaves a hole in our hearts. We want to thanks all of our dancers and their parents for an amazing year, and for all of your love and support. We feel very humble and lucky to have the opportunity to work with each of you!

Recital Week Schedule

Tuesday April 28th - 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Finale Rehearsal at the Extreme Ballroom Studio.
Creative movement dancers do not have to come to this practice. All other dancers need to be at the studio by 4:00 p.m. We will run the entire finale 2 or 3 times. We will be finished by 5:00 p.m.
Thursday April 30th - Dress Rehearsal at the Kirkham Auditorium on the BYU-Id Campus.
Please refer to the schedule on the paper sent home or check the schedule listed in the Recital link on our blog.
Saturday May 2nd - Dancers must be at the Kirkham by 4:30 p.m. Recital will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. When you arrive the dancers should already be dressed in their first costume with their hair and make-up done.

Rehearsal & Recital Dates

We have just received word on our Rehearsal and Recital Dates. Dress rehearsal will be on Thursday April 30th, and recital will be on Saturday May 2nd at the Kirkham Auditorium at BYU-Idaho.
Now that we have this information we are going to try to schedule pictures for Fri. April 3rd and Sat. April 4th. This is the only weekend we can have pictures taken and get them back in time to hand them out, and work around Easter and Spring Breaks as much as possible. We will be sending out more information in the next few weeks.

Classes Cancelled Jan. 27th due to Weather

Holiday Craft Fair

We are excited to announce that we will be holding a Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday Dec. 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you are interested in having booth space please contact Becca Parkinson @ 745-0108 or 589-0299. This should be a fun day and a good place to find some great Christmas ideas and gifts. We hope to see everyone there.

We have some fun and special things planned for the month of December. We will be learning some little Christmas dances, and doing some fun activities. Dec. 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th will be the last classes of the month. We will be having a little Christmas party in class on these days with some special surprises for our younger classes. We will be holding all of our regularly scheduled classes through Dec. 19th, after which we will break for Christmas Vacation. Classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 5th, 2009.

Here We Go!!

Wow, what an amazing start we have gotten off to! We can't begin to tell you how excited we are to be off and dancing in our new building. We are thrilled to have so many dancers with us this year and appreciate all of your support! We really love each of our dancers!
We had a great turnout for our shoe order this morning. If you weren't able to make it, let us know and we will take care of you. People have brought in several pair of gently used shoes to be sold so please take a look at them if your are interested. Also, don't forget to check out our "Dance Unlimited" logo T-Shirts and accessories we have available.
This is going to be an incredible year!!

New Studio - New Year!

Just 2 weeks and counting until we open our brand new studio for the 2008-2009 year! This has been a long time coming and from the response we are getting, everyone is as excited as we are! We were thrilled to have so many of you attend our open house a few weeks ago. We hope that you were able to see the vision we have for our building and for our students. Our most important goal is to provide them with the best dance education possible, and we believe these new facilities will help tremendously in this endeavor!
